From an early age, Leila knew she was going to dedicate her life to the arts. Painting is Lallali’s first love; after brief art studies at University of the Arts London, she moved to New York to pursue an acting career. After working as an actress for many years, Lallali’s path finally brought her back to painting.

The Putsch of the Pony

Lallali’s paintings often start with their title. They come to her in strange situations, through freudian slips, or simply when she misunderstands something she hears.

The titles usually give a hint to a potential story, however Lallali likes for the viewer to fill in the blanks, to create a narrative around it that is their own.
